Baby names in England and Wales

Thirty years of registered first names, 1996 to 2025, published by the Office for National Statistics. Unlike the American files these are full lists rather than a top thousand: every name given to three or more babies appears. On any name page you will see the British curve drawn against the American one.

Welsh names, and the hyphenated compounds British parents register in numbers. The American files publish only names given to five or more babies in a year, so these have no US entry at all.
