Sophia ranks 5th among American girls in 2025, with 12,572 born that year. Its best year was 2012, when 22,354 babies were given the name, ranking 1st. The typical living American called Sophia is about 14 years old today. It is relatively most common in Vermont, where it accounts for 1.01% of births.
